Gil, Alberto
Abel Castro is a veteran journalist unemployed after an ERE from his newspaper. He was a correspondent in Lisbon, and his son Gonzalo convinces him to resume the investigation into Humberto Delgado, a Portuguese general assassinated in 1965 by Salazar's political police (the PIDE) in Badajoz and into the Spanish involvement in this crime. Gonzalo proposes that he collaborate with his girlfriend, Catarina, who is a photographer, and wants to continue the search that his father started, that of his uncle who disappeared the same day as the murder of the Portuguese general. Abel and Catarina settle in Olivenza (just like the general when they betrayed him), visit crime scenes and interview Abel's former contacts, who were silent or lied at the time, repressed by the two Iberian dictatorships. Together they are putting together a plot related to smugglers and other murders that occurred on the same dates. They receive threats to stop investigating and one of their informants, a professor, warns them that the extreme right is very large in the area.
