Before Darwin scandalized the whole world with his theories about the origin of species, there was someone who already doubted, searched, asked questions... On the fossil-filled beaches of the English coast, Mary Anning, a poor girl without education, and the sullen Elizabeth Philpot, a middle-class spinster, will become friends, united by the same passion: the desire to search for the traces of life in the fossils and thus reveal the secret history of our past.
