Las cuatro plumas

Mason, A. E. W.

The story begins in England in 1869, when little Harry is impressed by the war tales of his father, a veteran Crimean general, and his old comrades in arms. Years later, Harry Feversham is one of the most flawless British soldiers, but, having given up joining his regiment for a risky campaign in Sudan because of his impending wedding to the beautiful Ethne, he receives an unequivocal accusation of cowardice: three white feathers sent by his friends. His beloved plucks the fourth and last feather from the fan and refuses to marry a coward. Dismayed, he then decides to embark alone to the aid of his companions. And there will be no lack of opportunity to demonstrate his bravery, as his battalion has been the victim of a devastating attack by the Sudanese rebels. Feversham's life will be, from that moment, in constant risk, but the sense of friendship and honor will move the strings of his destiny.
