Is it possible to generate innovation processes within a century-old institution such as the University? This is the starting question on which the authors work to respond to the challenge of how to adapt higher education to a changing context. The work explores how to maintain the educational commitment or the teaching guarantee on a base of students with different motivations and abilities, with ways of studying and learning that have nothing to do with the previous ones and on a university model that must take advantage of technological advances to improve their training processes. The authors complement these reflections with the exposition of the work carried out at ESIC University in the conceptualization and implementation of a new teaching model called transformative learning and based on the so-called student-centered learning.
