Sydney 1950. The window displays are laden with mannequins in ruffled skirts and bodices enriched with the most precious accessories. But Goode's is not just the most reputable department store in the city, where you can find the latest in fashion. For four women, the tireless workers in the women's dresses section, always perfect in their black uniforms, is also their only chance for independence. While they advise their clients on fabrics and models, inside they all cultivate dreams of freedom, in a different role than that of daughter, wife and mother. Thus, in an Australia in which people from all European countries coexist in harmony as a consequence of the war, there comes a time of great changes and unexpected opportunities for all of them. Between a party and a new dress, Lesley, Patty, Fay and Magda will experience their own magical moment when they decide who they really want to be.
