Las chicas de la 305

Alcolea, Ana

Six teenage girls live in the same room at a boarding school where they come from different towns in the country. It is 1968 and the world is changing. They all belong to poor families, each one has left her town for very different reasons, they are the first women in their family who can study, and they know that their only way to prosper is to take advantage of the opportunity. Halfway through the course, Angélica, the tutor, proposes that they put on a play: The Tempest, by William Shakespeare. The character of the characters and yours will merge in the interpretation. The atmosphere of the female boarding school is also mixed with the social and political reality of the time: the last years of the dictatorship, the French May 68, the assassinations in the United States of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy, the Vietnam War, the presence of American soldiers on the air base, the presence of religion, the desire for freedom, the definition of sexual identity and first loves.
