Las cartas de Esther
Pivot, Cécile
"The workshop was their lifeboat. I was going to save them from misunderstanding, from an unresolved duel, from a life at a standstill, from a love in danger. When I realized it, it was too late, I was already immersed in intimacy and the history of each one of them ". In memory of her father, Esther, a bookseller in northern France, opens an epistolary writing workshop. Her five students form a heterogeneous group: an isolated elderly woman, a couple facing severe postpartum depression, a businessman seeking to make sense of his life, and a lost teenager. Through his letters ties are woven, hearts are opened. The literary exercise is gradually transformed into a life lesson from which all the participants will emerge transformed.
