Ava, CJ, Jenna and Marta have to get used to the idea that this is their last year together. They dream of their future and wonder what is about to come into their lives. The future seems so uncertain and the decisions to be made seem so... great. Especially when they have to survive the most charming boy in high school, Diffender. Although the story takes place in the present, the prologue takes place 30 years from now, on the day of the inauguration of the first President of the United States. But the prologue does not give us all the details. We only know that one of the four friends will be the President. But we don't know which one. As a kind of feminist fairy tale, we know that the girl who kisses Diffender will end up becoming the most powerful person in America.
