Las ballenas cantan jazz

la ciencia desde el asombro y la belleza de lo desconocido

Viciosa, Mario

Whales sing jazz. And the cosmos is a dark brown. And all bananas are the same. Planet Earth is a strange and fascinating place that can be explained through headlines like these. In 1977, humanity launched its first business card into the universe through the Voyager probes. Since then, a record travels through interstellar space with sounds and images of our world directed at a supposed extraterrestrial civilization. However, that message in a bottle is difficult to decipher, among other things because it does not reveal something that narratives do: passions, feelings, fears... In short, emotions. Whales Sing Jazz is an explanation of our unique existence to Alice, a hypothetical extraterrestrial entity, written by Bob, another hypothetical human spokesperson, willing to share the estrangement of a world that, although it is common to us, is nonetheless tremendously amazing.
