Lady Jolie y su arrogante vizconde
Díaz de Tuesta, Yolanda
Rejecting a marriage proposal can have serious consequences; some, almost as much as breaking an already established commitment. Lady Julia Beckett, daughter of the Marquis of Wonderhill, is known to all her friends as Jolie, the nickname given to her as a child by her French grandmother. Despite the bad head of her father, who keeps the family mired in perennial ruin, Jolie's beauty and strong personality have brought her many marriage proposals, which she has not always rejected in the best way. Jolie's ultimate aspiration is to become totally independent in a male-dominated world. She is convinced that this desire of hers should take precedence even over the feelings caused by the proximity of Viscount Stanton, which will lead her to hatch a plan with her friends in a pact that many would call perverse. Lord John Lebrecht-Fitzwilliams, the rich and handsome Viscount Stanton and future Duke of Hasteens, has been engaged for some time to Lady Christine Whicher, the beautiful daughter of the Marquis de Ballards, whom the newspapers call "the Golden Beauty of London". The problem is that, almost as he developed a deep dislike for Christine, he realized that he was actually in love with Lady Jolie. Lord Stanton's dilemma is more serious than it might seem at first glance, because if Viscount Stanton is clear about one thing, it is that love is not part of his plans.
