La vocación del remo

Although La vocation del rowing is a travel book whose poems evoke specific routes -from Burgos to Seville, from Medellín to Bogotá, from Strasbourg to Mainz or from Santa Cruz to Havana-, the protagonist's journey of the story takes place between the child born in a small town in the Andes and the adult who has not only seen the world, but has been touched by it. The poems of La vocation del rowing lead us through landscapes as dissimilar as the fiery rivers of the Colombian tropics or the cliffs of Normandy; even so, the route leads to the same place: one that is closer to the interior of the poet than to the landscape.
