La vaga dels tramvies

On March 1, 1951, in Barcelona, thousands of citizens refused to take the trams to protest against the increase in ticket prices. How could a user strike be fought in the midst of dictatorship? Franco's laws prohibited a lot of activities, but had not provided for the possibility of punishing those who refused to use a public service. This popular protest, which denounced the incompetence and moral corruption of power, and the subsequent general strike became an inexcusable reference for the struggle against the dictatorship. And they were the starting point for leaving behind the resignation and fatalism of the postwar period and the discovery that it was worth fighting and facing.
