Our protagonist, an unnamed 36-year-old woman, has always considered herself a feminist, if that includes not being able to change an outlet, being crippled by an inability to make her own decisions, and being chronically dependent on her parents and her husband, James. Her friends and family have always been a cushion for her anxiety, and somehow she has found herself leading the life they want for her, instead of the one she wants for herself. Without them, in a world of burning cities, rotting corpses, and man-eating seagulls, she lacks basic methods of survival. What do you do when you're essentially the new ruler of the planet?
