La Toffana

Giulia Toffana was accused in 1659 by the Court of the Holy Office of preparing and distributing an undetectable poison among Roman women. Over 600 men were killed by his wives because of him. At a time when women lacked their own will, this poison served them to redirect the destiny predisposed by their families through arranged and oppressive marriages. So, was Giulia Toffana a vigilante? A witch? A serial killer? A psychopath?.
