Domènech, Ignasi

La Teca, a major work in Catalan gastronomic literature, appeared in 1924 and, since then, twenty-one editions have been published. Its author, Ignasi Domènech, on the first page made clear the aim of the book: "It contains the way to organize all kinds of simple meals or etiquette, to calculate snacks, dinners, bowls, cooked, roasts, sauces, legumes, poultry, cold dishes, cannelloni, rice, fried eggs, meats, fish, sweets, meringues, soft drinks, cocktails, ice cream, jams, salads, roasts, and various ways to make puddings and pastries, and lots of tips practice and usefulness for behaving elegantly at the table, etc. " This edition updates its format and, in some respects, its language, but not its initial spirit.
