La sonrisa del demonio

In the great palace of the empress lives an orphan girl named Nada. She slips into the shadows of the Court unseen by anyone except the Greater Daemon of the palace and her true friend, Prince Kirin, heir to the throne. When Kirin is kidnapped, only Nada and the prince's bodyguard suspect that he may have been kidnapped by the Maiden-Eating Sorceress, a powerful woman who has plagued the region for decades. The Sorceress has never bothered to kidnap children before, but Nada has uncovered many secrets in the sixteen years she has lived in the palace, including some about the prince. As the empress's army embarks on a fruitless search, Nada and her bodyguard set off on a rescue mission through demon-ridden forests and spirit-guarded crossroads. Their journey takes them to the gates of the Fifth Mountain, where the Enchantress wields her power. There, Nada will discover that magic is a deal, and she may be more powerful than she even imagines. But the price the Sorceress demands for Kirin could cost Nada her own heart.
