La sombra sobre Innsmouth
Lovecraft, H. P.

Innsmouth was not always the decaying, muddy ruin it is today. In the past, trade with distant wild communities in the Pacific filled their coffers and networks with wealth. But with gold and abundant fishing came strange cults and, starting with the Marshes, responsible for those remote expeditions, the inhabitants of Innsmouth began to carry strange talismans and chant arcane prayers in blasphemous rituals. All of this, it is said, is a thing of the past, since a brutal military operation ended such impious demonstrations. The protagonist and narrator arrives in decrepit Innsmouth almost by chance. Soon, the streets will become a trap and a maze. With each passing minute, the horror that the town still hides will be revealed in increasingly disturbing, twisted and macabre ways. As a backdrop, the sea, a source of ancient and inhuman horrors that, as the protagonist will discover too late, can nest at the very center of our existence.
