La rama de oro

La rama de oro

Cuenca, Luis Alberto de

La Rama de Oro is the label of a section that Luis Alberto de Cuenca has maintained for some years in the magazine Leer, directed by his friend Borja Martínez Gutiérrez, nephew of the famous journalist José Luis Gutiérrez, who also directed that periodical publication until his death in 2012. The Golden Branch is also a tribute to one of its author's favorite books, The Golden Bough: A Study in Magic and Religion, by Sir James George Frazer, mirror of anthropologists, whose abridged version (1922) he read From Cuenca for the first time half a century ago in the Spanish translation of Fondo de Cultura Económica. The thematic variety and caprice preside over the different epigraphs of La Rama de Oro, a book that aspires to spread the taste for reading and the pleasant approach to an attractive series of books from yesterday, today and forever.
