What is The Princess Bride about? Well, it's a story of swordsmen and combat. It deals with eternal love, immortal hate and ruthless revenge. In this novel there are some giants, a lot of villains and heroes, five or six beautiful women, beastly monsters and other kind ones, and many adventures and escapes and captures. There is death, lies, truth, miracles and even the occasional kiss. After the death of her beloved Westley, the beautiful Buttercup commits herself to Humperdinck, an evil and lying prince, to prevent a war. But, before the wedding, a band of mercenaries formed by Íñigo Montoya, the best swordsman in the world; Vizzini, the smartest man in the world; and Fezzik, the strongest, kidnaps the young woman, and a mysterious pirate will challenge the kidnappers to get the princess.
