La primavera del Frente Popular

Among the topics about the origin of the Spanish civil war, none is more repeated, and less well founded, than the one that maintains that it all began as a response to the revolutionary escalation that occurred during the months that followed the electoral triumph of the Popular Front, in February 1936. An escalation in which, according to this topic, the invasions of land by the Extremadura peasants assume a leading role. This book by Francisco Espinosa explores for the first time in a serious and documented way what happened in those months of 1936 and demonstrates the falsity of the alleged revolutionary escalation. In its pages we recover, on the other hand, the projects and works of that spring of the Popular Front in which the Republic seemed to recover the pulse of reform, in contrast to the brutal repression that followed human beings and their hopes.
