La presència del Prado

Since its creation, the Víctor Balaguer Museum Library has had an important deposit of paintings from the Prado Museum. Inaugurated in 1884 in Vilanova i la Geltrú, in a few years it already had around fifty works that complemented its own collections. Throughout these 136 years, the presence of pieces from the Prado has been constant and with truly outstanding works, such as El Anunciación by El Greco or Dos de mayo by Sorolla, along with paintings by Murillo, Ribera, Juan Bautista Maíno and Goya. The book shows the pieces that are currently on deposit at the Museo Library, as a product of this long and fruitful collaboration with the Prado Museum, and that in 2019 were part of a highly successful exhibition.
