La prensa escrita en la enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera
Nauta, Jan Peter
Despite being an important source of content and language samples, the written press in Latin America and Spain has not been consistently used in comprehensive didactic approaches that would allow us to take advantage of this cultural and linguistic wealth. In most cases, the use of the press is limited to the exploitation of some texts, without taking into account the journalistic phenomenon in all its dimensions. This book offers a comprehensive but at the same time very concrete approach to helping ELE teachers, particularly novice teachers, ELE Master's students and participants in training courses, to integrate work with written press in the curriculum. The first chapter outlines a brief overview of the written press in Latin America and Spain and provides abundant information so that the reader can find his way on the subject. The second chapter presents the theory of journalistic genres (news, report, chronicle, etc.), essential to be able to work properly with the press. Next, the third chapter talks about some important characteristics of the language used in the press. The didactic principles and objectives are covered in the fourth chapter: the relationship between target groups and specific objectives, the various competencies, levels of mastery, etc. Finally, the last chapter presents a wide range of didactic proposals, based on the concepts presented above, with which the ELE teacher can integrate and adapt the work with the written press in his daily work. All the chapters are closed with tasks for the reader that can be developed individually or in groups, in this way contributing to the training of ELE teachers.
