At the age of fifteen, Anne had the courage to leave her home, go into the forest that she saw from her window every day, and never return. This was the refuge she dreamed of: a place to hide and get away from her chaotic and dysfunctional family, voluntarily becoming a vagrant. Little by little, she learns to forage and hunt with her own hands; to build a house with the materials that the forest itself gives him, and to decipher the mesmerizing Greek chorus of trees. She watches foxes and deer, she survives her first terrible winter, and knows the bitter warm beauty of her love. But in the forest he hears other voices: the night and its rumors, a man armed with a pistol, children splashing in the ponds... and soon the sound of distant chainsaws, which herald paths under the trees and walkways under the canopy of the branches. The city that little by little begins to surround it.
