La pequeña librería de Stefan Zweig

La pequeña librería de Stefan Zweig

Uría Fernández, Francisco

In the summer of 1936, the ship that was carrying the great writer Stefan Zweig to America called at the port of Vigo. With the dramatic echoes of the Civil War echoing in the atmosphere, the celebrated author of "The world of yesterday" strolled through the streets of the Galician city, coming into contact with a reality not too distant from the totalitarianisms that had forced him to abandon, disenchanted, his beloved Europe. During this walk, Zweig will stop in front of the window of a small bookstore and meet its owner, Ramón, a man who, like him, is aware of the immense treasure that literature represents. That meeting will be the germ of a fleeting but valuable friendship, whose legacy will extend in time much longer than originally planned.
