La nueva clase dominante

gestores, inversores y tecnólogos : una historia del poder desde Colón y el Consejo de Indias hasta BlackRock y Amazon

Juste, Rubén

This book covers a period that began with the conquest of America and the creation of the first business colossi and continues to this day. During all this time, power has been marked by collusion between the leaders of large companies and the State, the most obvious symbol of which has been the revolving doors between boards of directors and ministries. Hand in hand, businessmen and politicians have shaped the world order until the most recent past. In the 21st century, power has mutated and its flagship is the political and economic alliance between large investors such as Larry Fink, John Bogle and Warren Buffet, founders of BlackRock, Vanguard and Berkshire Hathaway, and technologists such as Sergei Brin and Larry Page, Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg, in turn creators of a new generation of technological giants such as Google, Amazon and Facebook. This new ruling class is leading today a profound change in politics, the economy and society, universalizing the principle of limited investor responsibility and a way of thinking and living that is increasingly individualistic and disconnected from society and institutions.
