La noia de Port Bou
anatomia d'una investigació
Porta, Carles
On September 3, 1990, when leaving her sister's apartment in Florence, Evi Rauter left a note saying she would be back in the evening. Nothing was ever heard of again. He was only nineteen years old. Early the next morning, in Portbou, the body of a girl appeared hanging from a pine tree next to the cemetery. No documentation. Nameless. The authorities considered it a suicide, but a cluster of mistakes and mishaps made the mystery surrounding this dramatic fact grow. Thirty-two years later, and thanks to the investigation by the Crims team and the Austrian program Ungelöst, with journalists Anna Punsí and Marta Freixanet, and Ben Morak, it has finally been discovered that this girl is Evi. A thousand kilometers from Catalonia, her family has lived all this time affected by the loss of their daughter and by the negligence of the system. Beyond what could be seen in the two programs broadcast on TV3, the book La noia de Portbou is a journalistic account that reveals many exciting episodes, narrated with rigor and at a fast pace, and that offers new keys to a story of which the end has not yet been written.
