La niña de la banquisa
Bon, Adélaïde
One sunny Sunday in May, Adélaïde, a nine-year-old from a wealthy Parisian family, is sexually assaulted by a stranger in the stairwell of her house. As a self-defense mechanism, her mind will block the memories of the episode. But the trauma of what she has experienced will lead to loneliness, sadness and a persistent sense of guilt and shame that will mark her life. She will try by all means to hide from others the abyss of suffering that does not cease and will have problems in adolescence and in her initiation into sexuality. Twenty-some years later, overcome -at least in part- that childhood trauma, Adélaïde will revive what happened again. The police have arrested the alleged culprit, a man nicknamed the Electrician, suspected of being the author of dozens of sexual abuse of minors. She -like many other victims- is called to testify at the trial, which forces her to confront, when she no longer had it, the individual who destroyed her life.
