La naturaleza que somos

Like the myriad of stars in the heavens, so is the essence of humanity spread over the earth, say the Maori. Myriads of species make up and sustain humanity, because human beings are not only part of nature: we are nature. It takes a whole world to create humanity, the original peoples warn us. There are many councils around the world that remind us that our well-being depends on the well-being of the entire biosphere: such as the Hurai notion of the Chinese Tuvan people or Prakritik Swaraj in India, the commitment of Mâlama 'Âina in Hawaii or the Swedish practice Lagom. We are stardust, and in our gut alone there are more microbes than galaxies in the sky. Natural, they say, is inequality and war, as is earning a living by the sweat of one's brow. But little or nothing is said about care. What, then, is essential for the human being? Worth this book to travel to the most remote places of nature, human and non-human. Because the human being is made of atoms, but also of stories. We guess and play naturally. We are born scientists, and our firmament is the imagination.
