La maestra gitana
Cabrillana, Lola
Every Saturday at the market, Mara accompanies her father at the family stall. In this multicultural environment, no one questions her identity or her worth. Instead, at the institute where she has just started working, she receives looks of disdain from her classmates. Accustomed to fighting against stigma, this gypsy teacher will not be intimidated and, before her new students, she will value the culture and history of her town. However, when she finds out that two of her gypsy students are about to drop out, she Mara will be torn between respect for her roots and that innate rebellion that has always made her question some traditions. With a sensitive and honest pen, Lola Cabrillana narrates the courage of a teacher who rebels against the stereotypes suffered by her community and fights to dignify the gypsy woman.
