La luz de la esperanza
Hlad, Alan
Germany, 1916. Anna works as a nurse in a field hospital with soldiers who return from the front, broken in body and spirit. Bruno, her fiancé, fights on the Western Front alongside the notorious doctor Fritz Haber, who has been commissioned by high-ranking German army officers to use chemical weapons. One day, Anna meets Dr. Stalling, director of the Red Cross Ambulance Dog Association, who tells her about a new project: to create a school that trains dogs as companions for blind veterans. Anna will start working with Nia, a brave female German shepherd who has been injured and, when she meets Max, a young man with Jewish roots who has just returned blind from the battlefield, she will have the opportunity to give him back his will to live. A precious friendship will be forged between them, but the war and its consequences have other plans for them.
