La llegenda del bosc
Santamaría, Jara
Legend has it that, in the Baztán valley, the gods lived together in brotherhood and the creatures of day and night could live in harmony. But Gaueko, the fearsome god of the night, began to terrorize humans with his retinue of wolves and the goddess of the earth, Mari, begot the Moon and the Sun to protect them from darkness. However, Gaueko's lust for power led him to hatch a plan to kidnap the Sun and thus permanently establish his reign of the shadows. In anger, Mari divided the world in two and nothing and no one could cross the border between them. Teo, Emma and Ada do not like each other, but they are cousins, and circumstances have meant that they spend the summer together in their grandmother's Navarrese farmhouse. When one of them disappears and the others go out in search of him, they discover a universe of witches and gods, of irascible giants and beautiful women with the claws of birds of prey in which the fearsome god Gaueko has imposed the darkness. A world where they can only be saved from darkness if they stick together and discover their own magic.
