La libertad de expresión

y por qué es tan importante

Doyle, Andrew

Freedom of expression is the touchstone of all our freedoms, and yet, in recent years, it has been increasingly questioned. A new conception of "social justice" based on identity, which considers potentially violent language, has put on the agenda where the limits of what is acceptable to say must be drawn and seeks to prevent the spread of questionable ideas. Laws against "hate speech" have been enacted in Europe and tech giants are collaborating to impose limits on public speech. Andrew Doyle addresses and responds to these concerns, which, however well-intentioned they may seem, pose a threat to the most basic tenet of our freedoms.
