The worlds scattered throughout the Veil of Elara nebula were once protected under the oath of unity carried out by three mighty chapters of the Adeptus Astartes. The Star Scorpions ended up disappearing due to deficiencies in their genetic code. The Inquisition wiped out the Celestial Lions for sins they had not committed. Now, hundreds of years later, only the Emperor's Spears are still keeping vigil. They are savage sentinels against the Outer Darkness, beaten but incorruptible in their eternal duty. Aaron Dembski-Bowden has focused on creating (and perhaps destroying) a Space Marine chapter in detail. The protagonists will have the opportunity to discover their destiny.
