In 1944, as the Red Army closed in on Warsaw, the valiant Polish resistance launched an uprising against the German forces. The insurgent fighters faced the fearsome SS with courage and determination for three long months. Among them was Maria Sabina Devrim, a young woman just 21 years old at the time, who joined the resistance with iron determination. Throughout that conflict, she Maria fought tirelessly until the end of it, miraculously eluding the cruel hand of death. Later, having gone into exile in France, she decided to share her inspiring story with the world.
