A man wakes up in a forest clearing in what appears to be medieval England, with no recollection of who he is, where he came from, or why he is there. Pursued by a group from his own time, his only chance for survival lies in regaining his lost memory, making allies among the locals, and perhaps even trusting his superstitious boasts. His only "real world" help should have been a manual entitled The Frugal Wizard's Guide to Survival in Medieval England, but the copy he had exploded in transit. The few fragments he managed to salvage provide clues to his situation, but will he be able to connect the dots in time to survive?
