The Prado has been defined, on numerous occasions, more than as a museum of paintings, as a museum of painters. And one of the reference artists for his collections is Pedro Pablo Rubens. His importance for the Prado Museum is not only due to the large number of works by his hand that the institution preserves, but also to the influence he had on the artists of the Spanish court, who were able to know and admire the works of Rubens that hung in the walls of the royal sites. Led by eighteen specialists, this book not only covers his artistic production, but also analyzes the role that the Flemish painter played in the political and social sphere of Europe at the time.
