La gran caída

Handke, Peter

The protagonist of "The Great Fall", a long-distance actor who has to start shooting the movie of which he is the protagonist the next day, embarks on a warm summer day on an idle walk, aimlessly and without destination, through the streets of the city where he is, from dawn until late at night. During the tour, while observing nature and remembering aspects of his life, he meets all kinds of characters (destitute, couples, television presenters, immigrants who speak other languages, a priest ...) whom he observes as actors. of the new theater of the world, without knowing which are real and which are the fruit of his imagination. In this work Peter Handke, Nobel Prize for Literature 2019, weaves a conversation between society, politics and nature through this wandering actor, who observes everything and who is fatally heading towards the "Great Fall", towards his destiny.
