La furia del silencio
Dávalos, Carlos
In Peru in the nineties, a few years after a young Vargas Llosa ran for president in front of a mysterious and exotic Fujimori, Facundo begins to discover the hypocrisies that surround him. He has grown up in a Lima of blackouts and attacks, in the bosom of a bourgeois family, along with his sister Alexia, attentive parents and Dolina, the omnipresent domestic worker. But he has a peculiarity: he suffers from narcolepsy and can fall asleep in the most unforeseen situations. When Alexia reveals that she is pregnant and her parents impose a decision on her that is not theirs, she decides to act. Another confession, from a classmate, added to an expulsion for indiscipline, throws Facundo on an initiatory trip through the center of Lima, where he will discover sex, cocaine and love, as well as a crucial secret. In this way, he will create the plan that will make his life (and not just his) change forever.
