In an impoverished area of the Ozark Mountains in Missouri, in a small town with great secrets, two twelve-year-old girls are found murdered. With nothing to lose and broken in pain, Eve Taggert sets out to find out what really happened to her daughter. Eve knows the dark side of life. Her own mother took it upon herself to teach it to her. A harsh lesson that she has desperately tried to avoid from her little Junie.
