The Party is a highly original classic mystery book that brings together all the elements of the genre in a dark and witty fable inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins, and reminiscent of the best works of Agatha Christie, Daphne du Maurier or P.D. James. It all begins with disturbing news: a hotel in Cornwall has been buried by a landslide in the surrounding cliffs, leaving seven guests dead. But what is it that brought this diverse set of people together? To find out, we go back a week and meet each of the vacationers, each more eccentric and each with their own story to tell. Against the backdrop of a glorious summer vacation, friendships are formed, romances blossom and sins are revealed, as cracks in the cliffs widen. Some of the guests will live and some will die, but the identity of the survivors is unknown until the shocking and heartbreaking ending.
