La España que pudo ser (1885-1931)

La España que pudo ser (1885-1931)

Aubert, Paul

Considering the Spain that could not be, explaining why an evolution towards democracy did not take place since the beginning of the 20th century to overcome the collapse of the political system, makes it necessary to understand on what and why "lost time" was spent. Although history is a construction and its imaginative part cannot be diminished, far from both the great syntheses and the minutiae of symbolic memory, the consequences of Spain's late return to Europe, after having resigned itself to abandoning an Atlantic destination and crossing symbolically the southern border to access industrial civilization, are complex.
