La desaparición de Adèle Bedeau

Burnet, Graeme Macrae

Manfred Baumann is a lonely guy. Socially awkward and perpetually out of place, he is the last person alive to have seen Adèle Bedeau, the taciturn waitress of a bistro located in the small French town of Sant-Louis. Her known obsession with her makes him the prime suspect in her disappearance. Inspector Gorski -who has not yet overcome an old case in which an innocent man was convicted- is suspicious of the mysterious Baumann, who seems surrounded by an aura of darkness. Gorski, trapped in a provincial town as well as a cold marriage, puts pressure on Baumann as he returns to the scenes of his past and re-encounters his former demons. The tireless search for the truth becomes a succession of misfortunes both for the hunter and for the one who, in a way, he hopes to be hunted.
