The Sun King transmuted into a vampyre and thus became The King of Darkness. Since then, he has been ruling as an absolute despot over Vampyria, a coalition of territories that includes France and her vassal kingdoms and lives under a dark age. A series of laws are imposed on the population that make them live in perpetual terror, being literally bled to feed the vampiric aristocracy.
