La Congregación de la Granada
las arras del Mestizo
Vera García, Julio
During their participation in the Gymkhana in Seville, a group of four young people discover a secret tunnel that is part of an ancient legend. The passageway reveals inscriptions linked to various works of art from Seville's Golden Age. The architects, painters, sculptors, goldsmiths or carvers of these works, as well known as Francisco Pacheco or Juan Martínez Montañés, belonged to the Granada Congregation: a conceptionist secret society that was persecuted by the Holy Inquisition and has been recorded as its existence to this day. A real Gymkhana begins that immerses the characters in historical discoveries that lead them to the Mestizo's arras: the thirteen coins that hide one of the greatest treasures from the Americas. An adventure novel told by several protagonists, at different times in the seventeenth century and today, in a search that leads them to be part of history itself, in which the interests of various characters and institutions such as the Church itself converge. A secret, a spiritual congregation, the Holy Inquisition, the darkest part of the Sevillian Golden Age, the canonization of a conquering king, a conceptionist dogma, canvases, marble, wood, gouge, silver, polychromy, art... and a treasure.
