La ciudad enfurecida
Martínez Martínez, Sergio
Pamplona 1274. On the death of Enrique I of Navarra, the tension between supporters of an alliance with Castile and those who propose a wedding between the heir to the throne and the son of the Infante Pedro de Aragón provokes a serious confrontation that worsens when the regent queen flees with his daughter to France, in search of the protection of King Felipe III. The conflict further strains the coexistence between the inhabitants of San Cernin, San Nicolás and Navarrería, the three traditionally confronted towns that make up the city. Iñigo, a carpenter from Navarrería, lives oblivious to all that. He only thinks of Anaïs, a young French woman from San Cernin whom he saw one day at the market. But spirits are very excited and the residents of Navarrería take their weapons out into the street. The air of the city smells of war.
