La Serena rises above the waters, protected by the demons that inhabit them and that, during the carnival, come out of the canals and attend the parties that are celebrated in their honor. Between dance and dance, a conspiracy is born. Some of the most powerful families in La Serena plan to open the borders that, for years, have kept the city isolated from the world. It is then that the paths of Baldizere Abaqua (a handsome and coveted aristocrat from La Serena), Mirlo Yavuz (an outcast descended from the Imperials who has a very particular interest in the demons that haunt the city) and the twins Pelegrina and Ventura cross. Malatesta (two thieves who have been given an assignment by a mysterious client that could change the future of the city forever). Together, and almost without realizing it, they will have to delve into the labyrinth of secrets that Serena has kept buried for centuries... even if doing so means putting their lives and those of the people they love in danger.
