La chica de Riotinto
Lasa, Sonia
In Riotinto there are no more flowers, there is only misery, coal, contraband coffee and a piece of bread a day. Soledad cleans, cooks and takes care of her mother; her father, the man of the house, works in the mines and organizes the young woman's life: at nineteen she is old enough to intern as a maid at the Anderson's house, so she dictates. She will soon have to get married and become pregnant, because that is what everyone expects of her. Short-sighted, however, what no one imagines is that Soledad will meet in Bella Vista, the English Quarter, the daring Margaret, the Anderson's niece recently arrived from London and with a particular mind, who will captivate the attention of the Riotinto girl.
