Giacomo Casadio was a solitary man with a melancholic temperament, endowed with a great imagination and the talent of visionaries. He had few friends and when he was forty-five years old he had never had a girlfriend. Until the day a gypsy woman crossed his path at a village festival. Giacomo had noticed her for a long time: she was tall, had a slender body and black hair that reached her waist. He had always avoided her, self-conscious by her arrogance; but that day the gypsy woman approached her, read the future in the palm of her hand, and soon after they got married.
