La caricia perdida

La caricia perdida

Storni, Alfonsina

Storni was one of the most important postmodern poets in the Spanish language. Able to defy the suffocating social conventions, she was an example of courage for her way of assuming her feminine being in absolute and sometimes heartbreaking loneliness. From the wounds and misunderstanding suffered by Storni emerges the strength of her voice, the cadence of some verses that can be a cry of protest, a song to life, love of nature or a claim to the right of women to become the subject of desire, in an attempt to conquer the freedom to decide their destiny. This short anthology pays tribute to her work, overcoming the legend of suicide that has sometimes been an obstacle to an intimate approach to her poetics.
