La carabela san Lesmes

el viaje más épico de la historia

Gorrochategui Santos, Luis

In the year 1525, seven ships of the Loaísa-Elcano expedition set sail from La Coruña with the intention of starting the long-awaited route of the spices, discovered in the first circumnavigation of the planet, but in that titanic mission one of the ships, the caravel San Lesmes , runs aground on an island lost in the immensity of the Pacific. With no chance of returning, the crew will have to make their way on the paradisiacal beaches of Polynesia. From the hand of Luis Gorrochategui, we will learn this exciting story of survival and expansion of some navigators who were left for dead, and the fascination felt by the Spanish expeditions that centuries later found their descendants in those lands. The investigation also shows us new information about Australia and the exploration of the Pacific, and incidents in the life of James Cook never known by the many biographers of him.
